Note, Alabama requires the lecture every 3 years and the field-test and certification every 6 months. I gathered this tidbit from the Alabama DEM's fine web page. The summer smoke school in Birmingham will coincide with the SEC Baseball tournament. The 2010 SEC Baseball Tournament will be played at the Regions Park Stadium, During the week of May 24th - 30th, 2010. The Summer Smoke School Date is June 1, 1010. I love SEC and LSU Baseball.

Hotels and Lodging: Oak Mountain State Park has several beautiful lake side fully equipped cabins. Each cabin has 2 bedrooms with one king size bed in one bedroom and 2 king size beds on the other bedroom. The fish always bite on Oak Mountain. You can make your reservations a year in advance. As of June 2, 2009 they still had cabin reservations available for the SEC tournament in May 2010. I have a great idea for a new southern tradition. Your company should rent a couple of cabins the day before the school and we could have a nice barbecue and have a little fun. Each cabin has 3 king size beds and sleeps 6 people. Oak Mountain State Park is breathtakingly beautiful. Bring your family, golf clubs, bicycles, boat, campers, fishing rods, swimming suits, hiking boots, horses, and cameras.

Sweet Home Alabama has always been one of my favorite states. Alabama has everything, mountains, hills, swamps, beaches, good folks, baseball, and football. I am a life long LSU fan and Alabama is the home of two of LSU's greatest rivals. If you want good football or baseball, then come to one of these games.

This course meets Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) requirement for field certification of Visible Emissions Evaluators. Successful completion qualifies students to perform EPA Method 9 Visible Emissions testing for smoke stacks and other air pollution sources for six months (provided students have also successfully completed their required Smoke School classroom training every three years).

The report time for each day is 8 AM. When you register please include the day you want to attend. We should be finished with the field-testing by 11:30 AM each day. If all of your personnel can not attend the 8 AM session, please include this information on your Registration form or Contact us email or phone ahead of time and we will be more than happy to add additional test sessions during the day if needed. Please send all people who need the classroom for the first field session at 8 AM.

Attention all contact personnel: Please make sure to relay all of the information about smoke school to your employees. Be sure to include the agenda, driving directions and what to bring. If your employees do not have access to the internet, you should print the information and distribute it to the employees. Otherwise you can simply email the specific links to your employees. I appreciate your cooperation.
