Why we are posting jobs on the internet.
During our smoke schools, we get several request from individuals to help find them a job. We also get several requests form companies to help find them an employee. I am doing this service because I have spend several periods in my life without a job. I can tell you that it is depressing and it is not easy. We are an environmental consulting firm and we teach opacity reading, EPA Visible Emissions Workshop. Method 9 and Method 22. Any one who is unemployed may attend any of our schools for $50. If you do not have $50 let us know and you can come free. You will be trained and fully certified as a visible emissions evaluator. Industrial companies predominantly those with smokestacks sometimes hire temporary help as visible emissions evaluator. When you come to smoke school you will find just a few people form the plant industrial environment. The training atmosphere is very relaxed. We treat everyone equally. Doesn't matter if you are the plant superintendent or the plant gofer. There is some free time during the training sessions, especially during lunch. You can bring your business cards and your resumes, shake hands, and discuss your needs.
My advice on getting a good job
Good jobs are hard to find. You need just the right amount of qualifications for the right job. Stay in school as long as you possibly can. Keep a positive attitude. When you show up for a job interview use common sense. Never ask about the starting pay. This makes them feel like money is all you are after. They will tell you the starting pay. Dress appropriately for the job that you want. If you want an office job, wear slacks or a dress. If you want an outside job. Dress appropriately. No shorts and no belly shirts. No ragged blue jeans. Wear new jeans. If you want a carpenter job bring a hammer. When you come to the interview be ready to start work today. Dress like you are ready to start today. If you want a job in an industrial plant, wear steel toed shoes and bring a hard hat. Come prepared to work. The best way to find a construction job is to show up at a job site at 7 AM and come ready to work.
Do not be shy, be yourself. Be relaxed and confident. Make sure your resume has all the words spelled correctly. Say what you want to say about yourself in simple easy to read fashion. Put it all on one page. Start off with something that catches your attention. If you do not have a lot of job experience, say something about yourself. Include your hobbies and all of your talents. Be simple, concise, and brief. Be sure to shake hands with the interviewer and look her or him straight in the eye when you talk.
